Birma gaat al 50 jaar
gebukt onder een
militaire dictatuur.
Dwangarbeid, genocide
op minderheden,
delocalisatie,
kindsoldaten,
verkrachtingen ...
zijn dagelijkse kost.

De bevolking
van Birma heeft
onze hulp hard
nodig. We kunnen
allemaal iets doen.
We are Burma
toont ons hoe.

Korte documentaires en
toespraken van Birmese
activisten zullen ons
informeren over de
schrijnende toestand
van het land; filosofen,
artiesten, politici en
journalisten zullen tonen
hoe we ons steentje
kunnen bijdragen om de
toestand te veranderen;
muzikanten zorgen voor
een streepje muziek.

De opbrengst van de
avond gaat integraal
naar de Thaïs-Birmese
vzw Blood Foundation,
die onderwijsprojecten
uitbouwt in het
kennisarme land.

Soirée de bienfaisance

FR Cela fait 50 ans que
la Birmanie, pays du
sud-est de l'Asie, ploye
sous une dictature
militaire. Travaux forcés,
génocide de minorités,
délocalisation, enfants
soldats, viols ... font
partie du lot quotidien.

La population
de la Birmanie a
grand besoin de
notre aide. Nous
pouvons tous faire
quelque chose. We
are Burma nous
montre comment.

De brefs documentaires
et allocutions d'activistes
birmans nous informeront
de la situation désespérée
du pays ; philosophes,
artistes, politiques
et journalistes nous
montreront comment
nous pouvons contribuer
à notre mesure à
changer la situation ; des
musiciens se chargent de
l'accompagnement musical.

Les recettes de la soirée
seront intégralement
reversées à l'asbl thaïbirmane
Blood Foundation,
qui met sur pied des
projets éducatifs dans ce
pays où la diffusion des
connaissances n'est pas
vraiment de mise.

Benefit

ENG The South-East Asian
country of Burma has
been burdened by a
military dictatorship for
50 years now. Forced
labour, genocide of
minorities, uprooting
people, child soldiers,
rape ... are all everyday
occurrences.

The population
of Burma urgently
needs our help.
We can all
do something.
We are Burma
shows us how.

We shall learn from
short documentaries
and speeches by
Burmese activists
about the distressing
situation in their country;
philosophers, artists,
politicians and journalists
will show how we can
contribute to changing
the situation; musicians
will provide a note of
music.

The proceeds from the
evening will go entirely to
the Thai-Burmese Blood
Foundation npo, which
develops educational
projects in a country that
is poor in knowledge.
